| This summer, Cathy Fink & Marcy Marxer, the GRAMMY™ award winning duo renowned for fun and interactive all-ages music, will bring old-fashioned family entertainment to a 21st Century format with their first-ever podcast. The Cathy & Marcy Songshop® Podcast launches July 1st with a down-home hootenanny called “Better When We Sing It Together,” running 5 minutes and featuring Cathy on guitar and Marcy on banjo. Friends of all ages gather to play homemade instruments and fill the house with laughter and song. |
| Cathy & Marcy have an international reputation as a “phenomenally talented duo” (Time Out New York). They’re also well known for “delivering children’s music at its purest" (Cookie magazine). With new podcasts planned to post every 3 weeks or so, Cathy & Marcy’s brand-new and interactive songfest offers a way to enjoy their family-friendly wit and masterful musicianship. As each podcast posts, Cathy & Marcy will publish the lyrics and chords to the songs so viewers can try playing along. In addition to the sing-along feature, each podcast will include a “Coloring Corner” and other activities where kids’ art and photos can be shared. Visit www.cathymarcy.com to view, download and subscribe to this FREE podcast. And once you subscribe, you'll automatically be notified of the next one. The Cathy & Marcy's Songshop Podcast will also be available on iTunes and other digital delivery services. |

| Future podcasts will each have a musical and playful theme and will include guest artists and a live audience as well as contributions from viewers. |

These video podcasts are an extension of Cathy & Marcy’s longstanding tradition of making musical fun. As Cathy notes, “Our podcasts feature real people making real music together in an informal and participatory production. There’s nothing commercial here. We simply encourage families to play music together, sing together and make up songs together. Over the coming weeks, we’ll be connecting folks with some of our favorite musicians and instruments. Viewers will learn how to make a hula hoop, put together an on the spot washboard band (after taking a tour of the Columbus Washboard Company), write song lyrics, and meet amazing musicians, parents and kids.” |
In other news, Cathy & Marcy have also launched a blog, easily viewed from www.cathymarcy.com. Cathy & Marcy invite fans to join their online community as they post journals from the road, fun notes from kids & families, great stories about music, songs, musicians and the people they meet.
